Dance is an art!
Our mission is to preserve and pass on that art. To instill the sense of
expression,
beauty
and freedom that dance inspires. And
to honor the History and traditions that define dance as an art.
Ann's Studio of Dance has taught generations of dancers for over 40 years!
Ann's Studio of Dance holds weekly classes for age 3
through High School. Classes are held
weekdays and Saturdays throughout
the school year. A special session is held during the summer. Students may
choose classes in Classical Ballet, Tap dance , Jazz dance, Hip Hop, and Irish
Step Dance. Students are placed by age and dance grade level. Classes include warm-up, center exercises, progressions and combinations. Routines for
performance are started in January as part of class following technical
exercises. Ann's Studio of Dance annual Dance Recital is held in June at Keene High
School. We also do additional
performances for local nursing homes, Fundraisers, Clubs and Organizations, Girl
Scout troupes, and the Cheshire Fair.
Ann Bergeron is the founder and Artistic Director of Ann's Studio which has
served Cheshire County since 1964. She realized her love for children and
instruction of the performing arts at a very young
age. Ann's training began with Sunny Seymour at the age of 5. Growing up, Ann participated
in many local shows in Keene and Surry and was a regular in the Gilsum
Minstrel Shows. In addition to dance
and cheering, Ann did choreography for the High School Drama Club. At age 13,
Ann started to teach out of her home and presented her dancers in recitals at
St. Joseph School. Ann later studied and took exams with "Dance Masters of
America" passing with the highest marks. She also spent several years studying
the Royal Academy Syllabus of Ballet from England and has put students through
the exams. Over the years, Ann and her students have attended many conventions
to further their knowledge of dance, studying with David Howard, Edward
Villella, Savion Glover, Debbie Dee, Luigi, Frank Hatchet, Gus Giordano, Gregg
Russell, Al Gilbert, Darryl Retter, Dena Rizzo, Germaine Brown and many others. Ann has had students compete at
competitions taking home Silver and Gold medals. Some of Ann's dancers have gone
on to perform and also teach. Ann brings a love and enthusiasm for dance
together with technical dance expertise that creates an unequalled experience
for her students.

Emma at Northeast Workshop for Dancers!
Emma was asked to lead the younger dancers in a Jazz Hip Hop routine! And she won a prize for performance of that routine! We are so proud of her!!!
The dance routine was choreographed by Barry Lather (currently the dance director for the Donny and Marie Show in Las Vegas) and taught by his mother Joan Lather.
